School year's end

As I write this, another year of school is coming to an end.

Naturally, our kids are extremely happy about this.

As parents, we probably have mixed emotions. Happiness that another year of homework and classes is in the books. Satisfaction that our children are continuing to progress in all aspects of learning and growing. A bit of sadness that the years of childhood continue to move on.

And, of course, wonder. As in the uplifting wonder of what the future holds for the next year(s) for each of our children.

And a more mundane wonder - as in, we wonder what our children are going to do all summer, and how we will all survive with our kids having this much time off, while keeping work and the household going...

Fortunately, between vacation days, some camps, a visit or two, and some downtime, I think it will all work out fine.

Welcome summer.
