TODAY AND TOMORROW
Every day better
This website is a long-overdue compilation of observations and thoughts about suburban life and fatherhood in North Carolina.
I am blessed to be the husband of a beautiful, incredible wife and the father of three spectacular children.
However, while my bride and kids are all remarkable, none of the residents of my house are or will be perfect, and that is not our goal. The goal is increasing respect for ourselves, others, and the world around us, each and every day, along with respect for the process, pace, and lessons of growing up, and growing older.
And, increasing resilience for the journey.
let's do this
Together
I am not the smartest man in the world, or in my cul-de-sac.
However, I am smart enough to know that no one builds anything by themselves, that forgiveness is essential, and that a life of service to others is the foundation of joy. In that spirit, I welcome ideas for future blog posts.
And then there were three
I can think of several reasons to create the various blog posts on this website:
- To capture fleeting thoughts, so that they are less fleeting
- To promote discussion within my family, especially over time
- To share observations with others, and learn from them
However, the three best reasons for this blog are the three North Carolina natives who live in our house with Claire and me.
From where I stand
I currently work as a chamber of commerce executive, advocating for mobility solutions in the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina so that our region and economy keeps moving.
In my spare time I enjoy doing or attempting CrossFit early in the morning, practicing soccer or basketball with my kids during the evening or weekends, providing guidance with homework when needed, and watching NC State and all ACC sports as well as Penn State, Steelers, Penguins, Hurricanes, and NC Courage games with my family and friends.
Of course, my favorite "activity" is just being together with my wife and kids, and every day is an honor, a privilege, and a blessing.
I attempt to capture some observations about those blessings in this website.
Thank you for reading.
